Welcome!

We are excited to welcome you to the brand-new website of Mendo Food Network! Our goal with this new platform is to provide a comprehensive resource for those looking to learn more about our mission, get involved, and stay updated on our latest initiatives. Whether you’re a longtime supporter or new to our community, we’re glad you’re here.

Our Mission: Feeding Mendocino County

At Mendo Food Network, our mission is simple yet powerful: to fight hunger and nourish our community with fresh, healthy food. We believe that everyone deserves access to nutritious meals, regardless of their circumstances. Since our founding, we’ve been dedicated to bridging the gap between surplus food and those in need, ensuring that no one in Mendocino County goes hungry.

What We Do

  • Food Distribution Programs:Our core service is distributing food to individuals and families who need it most. We partner with local farmers, grocers, and businesses to source high-quality, fresh produce, dairy, and pantry staples. Through our weekly food distributions, we provide essential nourishment to hundreds of households across Mendocino County.
  • County-Wide Reach: Our county-wide distribution ensures that even those in the most remote areas have access to the nutritious food they need. By coordinating with local food banks, soup kitchens and food pantries, we bring our resources directly to where they are needed most.
  • Community Partnerships: Collaboration is key to our success. We work closely with local organizations, schools, and social services to identify and reach those who need our help. Together, we create a robust support network that amplifies our impact.

How You Can Get Involved

  • Volunteer: Volunteers are the backbone of Mendo Food Network. From sorting donations to assisting with food distributions, there are countless ways to lend a hand. Volunteering is a rewarding experience that directly impacts the lives of our neighbors.
  • Donate: Financial contributions are crucial to sustaining our programs. Your donations help us purchase fresh food, maintain our facilities, and expand our reach. Even a small donation can make a big difference.
  • Spread the Word: Help us raise awareness by sharing our mission with your friends, family, and social networks. The more people who know about Mendo Food Network, the stronger our community support becomes.

Food ACCESS 24

Members of our team traveled all the way to our State Capital for Food ACCESS 24 hosted by California Association of Food Banks @cafoodbanks where we were able to pull up a seat to the table with other Food Bankers from across California.

Enhancing Deliveries with Our New Truck at Mendo Food Network

After a long two-year wait, our new refrigerated truck arrived! With a Food Bank Capacity grant through the California Department of Social Services, this addition to our fleet helps us better serve our community. We now have the ability to have a coastal and an inland route throughout Mendocino County. This makes high-quality, locally-grown food more accessible to our food distribution partners. Allowing us to source more food and distribute it more efficiently while eliminating unnecessary waste. We're excited to see how this addition will foster stronger community connections."
