We're encouraging those who can to support our efforts to combat hunger in Mendocino County by starting a home garden! Any extra food can be donated to the Fort Bragg Food Bank, or passed around to friends and families in need.

The Fort Bragg Food Bank is now accepting seed or starts for donation. We will offer these in a "seed library" at the Fort Bragg Food Bank, and they will be available to clients who ask for them, as long as they're in stock! So far, we have some awesome starts and some seeded paper. Grow your own lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, herbs, and more!

Some of our staff are already close to repotting! Take advantage of the spring sun and rain and start your gardens now! If you can't plant outdoors (we understand animals can be relentless), some staff have had success using a regular flower pot in a sunny window!

With questions about growing food, please email mary@mendofood.org. To donate food, simply stop by the Fort Bragg Food Bank during open hours or email lisi@mendofood.org.

$30,000 in 30 Days August Campaign!

This August, the Mendo Food Network is sharing on our website and social media daily posts to highlight how much further a donor's dollar goes in our hands.

With our bulk, wholesale purchasing power, a single dollar can stretch on average 8 times as far! Every day, we're posting an example, from fresh produce to canned goods, that highlights the difference between the retail price and our cost for our most frequently purchased food items.

Help us make a bigger impact with your money by donating directly to the Mendo Food Network at www.mendofood.org/donate (http://www.mendofood.org/donate). Follow along throughout this campaign on Facebook and Instagram, @mendofoodnetwork
